HEALTH FUTURES SERIES

For students, youth innovators, community leaders

WHOSA™ welcomes all levels of expertise from innovators, scientists, clinicians, researchers, cultural leaders, and young changemakers, and personal stories to take the stage and share ideas that are reshaping the future of healthcare and mental health. We are bridging the worlds of science, storytelling, and lived experiences with a special focus on elevating youth voices, Global South perspectives, and innovations.

What we are looking for

We’re seeking powerful contributions that explore themes such as:

  • Redefining Resilience: How young people navigate anxiety, climate fear, and pressure. What healing means to them?

  • Culture as Cure: personal or community story on how traditions like dance, language, music, food, or storytelling shaped healing and mental well-being.

  • Designing Care Differently Concept or prototype presentation on a tech, app, or creative solution you designed (or would love to design) for mental or public health access.

  • Beyond Borders: Healing in Diaspora personal reflection on navigating identity, migration, and what belonging means today.

  • Healing Through Creation Share a creative work that explores mental health, identity, or healing and its impact on you or your community.

  • Rethinking Success A reflection on burnout, hustle culture, and how your generation is redefining rest, purpose, and achievement.

  • Youth Policy in Action  Present a youth-led campaign or policy effort in mental health or equity and the lessons learned.

  • Game On for Health Share how games can support health education, emotional wellbeing, or trauma recovery through your idea or experience.

  • Spirituality & Self-Care A reflection on how spiritual practices or community care have supported your mental and emotional well-being.

  • Imagining Future Clinics  Imagine what a mental health center designed by youth, artists, and communities would it look like?

Whether you're an academic, student, educator or storyteller, this is your platform.

Speaker submission Guidelines

We’re excited to welcome fresh ideas and bold voices to WHOSA. Before submitting your proposal, please carefully review the following guidelines:

Submission Rules:

  • One Submission Per Leader: We only accept one submission per proposed speaker. Multiple entries for the same person will not be reviewed.

  • Individual Submissions Only: Please do not submit full panels. Focus on one speaker per application, highlighting their unique perspective or experience.

  • Speaker Availability: Confirm that your proposed speaker is 100% available October 23–26, 2025 in Atlanta, GA before submitting.

Diversity, Inclusion & Fresh Voices

  • WHOSA is committed to amplifying new voices and ensuring diverse representation across gender, race, culture, discipline, and lived experience.

  • We encourage organizations to nominate emerging leaders, creatives, and changemakers, especially those who haven’t spoken at WHOSA before.

  • We do not accept all-male panels ("manels") and prioritize proposals that reflect inclusive, intersectional perspectives.

Selection & Representation

  • To offer a wide range of ideas, we limit the number of speakers selected from any one organization.

  • We consider how many times a speaker has been featured in past years. Priority is given to first-time speakers or new voices within returning institutions.

Speaker Passes & Compensation

  • WHOSA does not offer speaker honorariums or cover travel/accommodation for main stage speakers.

  • All confirmed speakers will receive a complimentary pass to attend WHOSA 2025.

  • We are not able to offer guest passes for additional team members (with exceptions made for essential security personnel).
